Since 21/2/2011 I have been a registered veterinary nurse after attending The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons achieving a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing. In my 11+ years as a vet nurse I have worked in multiple surgeries helping with operations, inpatients, anaesthetics and more.
Following the COVID pandemic I decided to embrace the field of grooming after I began grooming my very own fur baby Elsie. It started with hand stripping and a few YouTube videos and turned into a OCN Level 3 Diploma and a year long vocational course.
After moving to our new home I realised I had the perfect space to set up my very own dog grooming salon for owners of classy K9's just like my Pawsome best friend Elsie.
Framing in of the bespoke space starts with the work on 28/6/2021. Our builder outlines the space in the garage that I will be using to ensure all my equipment fits!
The plasterboard is up on the walls on the 1st July 2021, the salon at this stage now has walls!!! I can see the space now framed in and start to get excited the plans are a reality.
At this stage the plaster is applied. Its now the 28th July 2021 and I can now start thinking about colours and how I am going to coordinate the space!
30th July 2021 and my mum has kindly and beautifully painted the walls blue to match the bath that's on its way! At this stage the floors are in and it is really now a salon but does need the equipment.
Done and ready to go the bath installed, the grooming table primed, the salon supplies in my snazzy rainbow drawers and then the myriad of little things that I need! Opening day is the 20th January 2022 after many months of planning and decorating, stocking and reorganising my life to become a small independent business!!!
