From a young age, I always knew I wanted to work with animals. That passion led me to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2011, after studying at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Since then, I’ve worked across multiple practices, building over a decade of experience in both clinical and client-facing roles.
My work as a veterinary nurse is incredibly varied – from assisting with surgeries and monitoring anaesthetics, to taking bloods, placing IV catheters, and supporting owners through aftercare. This wide-ranging knowledge gives me a strong foundation not only in animal health but also in understanding the needs of both dogs and their owners.

Like many, the COVID pandemic changed my routine.
With my working hours reduced, I finally had time to try something new – and that’s when I began hand stripping my little border terrier, Elsie. I started by watching YouTube videos, just out of curiosity, but soon discovered how much I enjoyed the process. Seeing the transformation in Elsie's coat and confidence sparked something – I loved the mix of practical skills and creativity.
What started as a hobby turned into something more. I went on to complete a year-long vocational course and achieved an OCN Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, combining my clinical knowledge with a new, hands-on way to support dogs and their wellbeing.
After we moved into our new home, I realised I had the perfect space to create a grooming salon that reflects everything I believe in – high standards, calm surroundings, and individual care. That’s how Nats Classy K9s was born.
Now, three years on, I run my grooming business alongside my part-time nursing role. I love being able to bring together both sides of my professional life – using my veterinary background to support dogs' health and comfort, while giving them a positive grooming experience tailored to their needs.
Whether your dog needs a full groom, a tidy-up, or a specialist hand strip, I’m here to help them look and feel their best – all in a calm, one-to-one environment.

Elsie is the reason this journey started. She’s been my right-hand girl and product tester from day one. From learning to hand strip her coat to trying out new shampoos and treats, Elsie has inspired me to turn a lockdown skill into a full-time passion – and now she gets to welcome other classy K9s to the salon too.
